Running your home business

1.One important thing to do when running a successful home business is to get dressed. Some people may stay in their robe after drinking coffee. I feel if you get dressed, it does not have to be professional clothing unless your home business brings in traffic, then yes dress professional, it helps you take your home business serious.
2..Get organized. Have folders and files to store contacts and client information. You may want to color coordinate ins, outs, payments, awaiting payment, products, etc. Whatever system works for you, tailor it to your business.
3. Email clients about changes in prices or procedures, sales, and updates. Be sure to follow up with the clients orders and shipments.
4.Be sure to have multiple ways to receive payments other than cash or checks: A. Pay Pal B. Credit Card Machine C. Square. With all my business I do not check checks, it's cash or credit. Do what works for you.
5. Have a website, facebook, or blog for your business. People want to look you up, and see if you really are who you say you are. Nothing fancy just something they can find and be nosy about or connect to you.
6. Have a contact number and or answering service, return calls at your earliest availability, and email, people will usually find you, call you and email you.
7. Get and keep business cards pass them out often and at every meet and greet exchange.
8.Treat every client like you want to be treated
9.Remember the names of every client, be happy to hear from and see them
10. Always offer an incentive for them to refer people to your business
11. Give away something free, it doesn't have to cost you a lot, show your appreciation for the referral, and or a big purchase (people love free stuff)
12. Thank every client for the business, no matter how big or small
13. Make every client feel important and special, why not, they are, they are your source of income and success
14.Please don't over load them with constant emails and newsletters, it becomes spam and annoying! Bi=weekly works
15. Set your hours of business, so your family will know between this time and that time you are working on/at your home business. I put a sign on my door "working". It could be pm when the household is asleep. What ever works. You get the point.
16. Calenders are so important, everything I do, with all my businesses I use a calender, I would drown without one!
17. When you make the home business a business and respect it as such your family will also....have asuccessfulhomebiz

The lower payment is a light bill, maybe the cheapest bill you would have to give you peace of mind while driving. For a single mother or a college stud...
